Second from the Home Star, Himinglaeva is a terrestrial world, and home to some 320 million people. It was originally terraformed by the TwoWorlds Consortium, a process that began when the first colonists arrived from Hroenn in 499 BCE. There was no habitation on the surface until 316 CE.
The planet is part of the Consortium Sphere but has no industry to speak of; local economies are largely focused on small-scale agriculture, luxury exports and tourism - a culture made possible by The Needle.
